Domain transfer policy

How to move a domain in or out of Nimbus: always by email, always authorised.
1. Overview
Domains can be moved between registrars and between registrants. Every transfer is authorised with a per-domain authorization (EPP) code and confirmed by email from the registrant address on file. Exact steps vary slightly by TLD, since each registry sets its own transfer rules.
2. Transferring a domain in
- Unlock the domain and obtain the authorization (EPP) code from your current registrar.
- Email transfers@oneworlddomains.com with the domain and the code.
- We verify the code, quote the transfer fee, and confirm the new registrant details.
- On completion the domain moves to us and, for most TLDs, gains a one-year extension to the term.
3. Transferring a domain out
To move a domain to another registrar, email transfers@oneworlddomains.com from the registrant address on file and ask for the authorization code. We issue it promptly to the registrant. We will not unreasonably withhold a transfer.
4. Locks and holds
- Most TLDs impose a 60-day transfer lock after registration or a previous transfer.
- A domain that is the subject of a dispute, an unpaid balance, or a valid legal hold will not be released until the matter is resolved.
- You can ask us to keep a domain locked at all other times as an anti-hijacking measure.
5. Changing the registrant
A change of ownership (registrant transfer) also requires email confirmation from the current registrant. We may ask for identification where the value or history of a name warrants it.
